USMED (Upskilling workers of SMEs with low Digital intensity) is a European initiative co-funded by the Erasmus+ program, designed to promote digital transformation in the food and accommodation sector. Its goal is to create innovative training pathways that enhance the digital skills of professionals in small and medium-sized enterprises with low digital intensity.
The food and accommodation sector is among the least digitized in Europe. According to Eurostat, only 59% of SMEs have a minimum level of digital intensity, far from the EU's 2030 target of 90% set in the Digital Decade Plan.
Expected Results
1) Methodological Framework and Assessment Tools
Methodologies and tools specifically designed to identify the digital skills gaps of the sector.
2) Personalized Learning Pathways
Interactive e-learning modules and innovative resources to engage workers.
3) Europass Digital Certifications
Official recognition of developed skills.
4) Awareness and Knowledge Transfer
Events, publications and policy paper to encourage the adoption of digital solutions in the sector.
